With a 13-4 record and the second seed in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills easily won the regular season.
The Bills are going into a real one-and-down tournament where it’s win or lose after having one of the most reliable football seasons. Fortunately, they are playing at home against the Denver Broncos, led by Sean Payton.
Given the nature of postseason football, there may be a desire to try to alter preparation after such a good regular season, but receiver Khalil Shakir believes Buffalo is content with the existing quo.
Shakir remarked, “We’re just a team that takes things day by day and step by step.” We try not to think about the future since we know what’s at stake and that the playoffs are coming up, but we’re continuing with our strategy from the previous season. Leaning into the preparation, discipline, and fundamentals—all of which have brought us this far—one step at a time. There’s no need to change anything right now.
Under Sean McDermott and Josh Allen, Buffalo is well-positioned to make a deep playoff run and advance to the AFC Championship game for the first time since 2020.
It won’t be simple, though, as they have to defeat the Broncos, who have one of the finest defenses in football (18.3 points per game, third best), in order to accomplish that.
Nonetheless, they will be sure they can score enough points to move on to the Divisional Round thanks to Joe Brady’s team’s dynamic, free-flowing offense.
And maintaining the practices that have brought the Bills this far is essential to achieving that.
