Milan has given up on Patson Daka and is now focused on Rafa Mir of Sevilla. According to Sky Italia, Mir has granted the transfer his assent. Milan and Sevilla must now agree on the specifics before a deal can be completed.
The arrangement is for a loan as part of the deal. Last season, the Spanish striker made 16 starts and scored six goals in La Liga. During Sevilla’s 4-3 loss to Deportivo Alaves last week, the 26-year-old made his league debut.
Mir is willing to go after realizing that he is sitting there instead of Youssef En-Nesyri. Mir, who has yet to make a league start, is in favor of traveling to Italy for a change of environment.
Although Milan’s starter Olivier Giroud has been very effective so far, the Rossoneri cannot rely completely on him at the age of 36. With three goals in his first two games, he has had a great start to the season.
AC Milan have been on the verge of signing three strikers in the last 48 hours, with the latest being Sevilla’s Rafa Mir.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan went for Patson Daka of Leicester City but since he was a non-EU player, difficulties arose with the documentation deadlines. The Rossoneri therefore moved to find a solution, and they are pushing to sign Mir.
The player’s approval has arrived, and he is ready to leave as soon as the two clubs agree the final details. They are working on the basis of a loan with option to buy, with the operation costing around €15m in total.
The Rossoneri are doing everything to get the player to leave as soon as possible in the direction of Milan. Compared to the one for Daka, the operation that would bring Rafa Mir to San Siro is easier given that he is an EU player.
Mir came through the youth academies of Barcelona and Valencia and he has played for Wolverhampton, Huesca, Nottingham Forest and Sevilla.
Since 2021, the Spaniard has amassed 61 appearances and scored 17 goals for Sevilla.
