‘Discussions ongoing’ over the departure of another key man amid deadline day exit with immediate effect

Striker Patson Daka could leave Leicester City before the end of the transfer window, despite a deal to AC Milan seemingly falling through.

At the start of the day it looked as though the Zambian international was heading to Italy, with reports suggesting that a loan deal has been agreed between City and AC Milan. However it was claimed that worries about the time had led to the Serie A club moving onto other options before their deadline at 7pm.

With City moving to sign Tom Cannon on a permanent deal from Everton, it looked as if Daka would have to stay and fight for his place at least until January with more competition in the striking position. But latest reports suggest that a move back to the Premier League could still be on the cards.

Daka Nominated For March Premier League Award
According to Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse , ‘discussions are ongoing’ over a potential move to Bournemouth. The Premier League side had shown an interest earlier in the window, but City were more keen on a permanent move at that stage.

City may now be more open to letting the player go out on loan with an option to buy, especially with more striking options coming into the club before the 11pm deadline. Daka is yet to play a minute of competitive football under Enzo Maresca.

Since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2021, he has scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 74 appearances for the club. Last season saw the 24-year-old score four times in 30 Premier League appearances with his final goal coming in the 3-1 home defeat against Chelsea back in March.
