Former Charlton Athletic Loanee Granted Loan Green Light
Former Charlton Athletic loanee Jesurun Rak-Sakyi will be allowed to leave Crystal Palace on loan this summer, with a host of Championship sides keen to land the exciting winger, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
The 20-year-old played a starring role in League One last season and is set to be given the opportunity to excel in the second tier next season, but the player’s next destination remains to be seen.
Who is Jesurun Rak-Sakyi?
The winger spent last season on loan with Charlton Athletic, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further eight in 43 league games for Dean Holden’s side. This included contributing to ten goals in his final ten appearances for the League One side.
Who is interested?
According to journalist Alan Nixon, Rak-Sakyi has attracted serious admirers from several Championship sides. The original interest fell with newly promoted Ipswich Town, but they have now been joined by Birmingham City, Hull City and Blackburn Rovers as well as Leicester City.
The winger will be granted permission to hold talks with all interested clubs over the coming days, before deciding on which team he’d like to join for the 2023/24 Championship campaign, which got underway last weekend.
Ipswich Town, Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City all managed opening day victories to begin their campaign. Birmingham was held to a 1-1 draw against Michael Duff’s Swansea City, whilst Hull City were beaten by Norwich City, courtesy of a 96th-minute winner from Adam Idah.

Having watched League One last season, it was common knowledge due to his impressive individual performances and goals tally that Rak-Sakyi would be the subject of strong interest this summer and if I’m honest, I am shocked Crystal Palace are loaning him out without letting him feature off the bench first.
However, that is admittedly a major step and allowing him to go out and play more regularly is much better suited to him at this current moment in time. Leicester are the biggest club named and they would give the winger a chance to win the title, whilst the others are likely to be further down the standings.
