Final Details of D’Andre Swift Trade Completed Following Latest Eagles Draft Pick
Every now and then, when looking over the Philadelphia Eagles roster, it’s still hard to believe Saquon Barkley’s name is listed. Watching him dominate with explosive 60-yard runs and help deliver a Super Bowl title for the Birds has almost made us forget who came before him.
In back-to-back seasons — 2022 and 2023 — Philly’s offense produced Pro Bowl-level performances from two different running backs. First, Miles Sanders had the best year of his career in his final season with the Eagles. Then, D’Andre Swift followed up with a memorable one-year stint.
Why bring those names up? There’s a good reason: the final pieces of the D’Andre Swift trade have just been settled.
Leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, the full details of Swift’s deal were still pending. Now, everything is finalized.
Here’s how it all unfolded — and it happened fast. On April 29, 2023, the Eagles traded a 2025 fourth-round pick to the Detroit Lions for D’Andre Swift. The two teams also swapped seventh-round picks as part of the deal.
The Eagles used pick No. 249 to draft former Texas Longhorns standout Moro Ojomo, while Detroit selected wide receiver Antoine Green at No. 219.
But it didn’t stop there. That 2025 fourth-rounder (No. 134 overall) was later traded back to Philly in a separate deal with Detroit. Effectively, the Eagles ended up acquiring Swift, a fourth-round pick, and a seventh-rounder (which led to drafting Ojomo) in exchange for a seventh-round pick in 2023.
Another reason Howie Roseman is hailed as a mastermind.
However, the Eagles later packaged the 134th pick, along with the 101st pick, and sent them to the Denver Broncos. In return, Philly received picks 111 (4th round), 130 (4th round), and 191 (6th round).
Denver used pick No. 134 to select Alabama edge rusher Que Robinson. The Eagles drafted interior defensive lineman Ty Robinson at pick 111 but then traded away pick 130.
And just like that, the D’Andre Swift era is officially closed — and once again, the Eagles come out as clear winners in their deal with Detroit.
