Lions 2025 NFL Draft: Detroit Trades Up to Select LSU Guard Miles Frazier in Fifth Round
The Detroit Lions moved up from pick No. 182 (sixth round) to No. 171 (fifth round) to draft LSU guard Miles Frazier.
To make the jump, Detroit gave up one of their seventh-round selections (No. 228 overall), though they still hold two more seventh-round picks at No. 230 and No. 244.
Frazier becomes the second offensive guard the Lions have taken in the 2025 NFL Draft, joining second-round selection Tate Ratledge from Georgia.
A four-year college starter — one year at FIU and three years at LSU — Frazier brings versatility, having played multiple positions:
-
28 games at right guard
-
12 games at left tackle
-
9 games at left guard
-
2 games at right tackle
In typical Lions fashion, Frazier brings toughness to the field. Arkansas defensive lineman Eric Gregory described him as having “an extra edge,” according to Dane Brugler’s The Beast scouting guide.
Frazier’s selection is widely considered a strong value pick. Brugler ranked him as the 81st-best prospect in this year’s draft, while Daniel Jeremiah had him even higher at No. 61.
