When Eddie Howe must submit his 25-man Newcastle picks for the Premier League squad

Except for Eddie Howe, who might be interested in dipping his toe into the free agency market, Newcastle United is not accepting any new clients. The manager of the Magpies has until Wednesday, September 13 to submit his 25-man squad list, so if he does intend to strengthen his team further, he won’t have much time.

Mark Gillespie, Matt Ritchie, Emil Krafth, and Javier Manquillo are among the senior talents Howe is anticipated to include in the group after each of the four missed out on a spot in the team.

According to top flight standards, each side must have at least eight ‘homegrown’ players and no more than 17 foreign players. The player in question must have been registered with a club connected to the English or Welsh Football Associations for three years prior to turning 21.
Under-21 players are not need to be registered in the 25-man roster, in contrast to the Champions League squad. Under-21 athletes will be those who were born on or after January 1, 2002 during the 2023–2024 season.

This frees up more space for senior players by allowing players like Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento, Elliot Anderson, Lewis Miley, and other young players to compete in the top division without formally registering.

The anticipated 25-man Premier League roster for Newcastle:

Goalkeepers: Mark Gillespie, Loris Karius, Nick Pope, Martin Dubravka

Defenders: Paul Dummett, Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman, Dan Burn, Javier Manquillo, Emil Krafth, and Matt Targett

Midfielders: Miguel Almiron, Harvey Barnes, Anthony Gordon, Joe Willock, Sandro Tonali, Jacob Murphy, Bruno Guimaraes, and Joelinton

Attackers: Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak
