According to TWTD, free agent and former Manchester United player Axel Tuanzebe’remains in discussions’ with Ipswich Town despite having trained with the team.
After been fired by Manchester United at the end of the last campaign, Tuanzebe, 25, is now a free agent.
Over the course of the summer, he has been connected to a variety of teams, including Ipswich Town of the Championship.
Tuanzebe, however, has more recently been connected to a transfer to Real Betis. However, according to TWTD, the Englishman is still in contact with Ipswich Town and is staying in the region as he decides what to do next.
The player has also practiced with the Championship team, according to the same report, which also states that The Tractor Boys and Tuanzebe have “continued discussions” this week.
Tuanzebe has 129 career matches to his name, with 34 of those coming in the Championship, after a previous stint with Aston Villa in the second division. Tuanzebe spent time on loan at Stoke City last season, but injuries limited him to only four appearances in the Championship.
Effective signing?
If he signs, Tuanzebe will undoubtedly provide quality and depth to the Ipswich backline.
Ipswich Town and Ipswich Town are still in contact with a free agent that is 25 years old.
But given that Tuanzebe has a history of injuries, Kieran McKenna will be concerned about both his present level of fitness and his injury history.
Although he demonstrated in his few games at Stoke that he is a player who can compete at the Championship level, Tuanzebe’s issue is maintaining his physical health.
Tuanzebe appears to be a nice possible addition for the Tractor Boys, albeit there is risk involved with acquiring any free agent at this point in the season.
