Sheffield Wednesday defeated Barnsley at Wembley in the League One play-off championship last year.
Barnsley is hoping for another push for the top six this season after missing out on promotion to the Championship.
This summer, they lost manager Michael Duff to Swansea City and hired Neill Collins, a former Sheffield United defender, in his place.
Here is a look at where each of the players who departed Oakwell ultimately ended up heading.
Mads Andersen
After being promoted to the Premier League last season after defeating Coventry City in the championship game on penalties, Luton Town swooped in to sign the defender. Before leaving for a fresh challenge in the top flight, Andersen played a crucial part in Barnsley’s ascent into the play-offs.
Brad Collins
In order to make room for Harry Isted, who was on loan from the Tykes during the previous season, the Tykes sold the goalkeeper to Coventry. After relocating to South Yorkshire in 2019, the former Chelsea player went on to make 117 appearances across all competitions.
