Jonathan Bland spoke to iFollow Barnsley after making his Reds debut in our 3-1 over Manchester City EDS in the EFL Trophy.
Our 22/23 Academy Player of the Year was named on the bench for our second Group F game, entering the fray in the 70th minute to replace Danny Benson in defence.
Bland has become an integral part of our U18s side since arriving at Oakwell in the summer of 2022 and was delighted to have made his senior debut alongside his teammates.
“I’m very proud. I was just saying outside how I’ve been dreaming about this until I can remember. Countless nights just thinking about it. I don’t really get nervous very often but when I heard ‘Steady’ shouting me over, I didn’t know whether he was calling me over to come on or just telling me to warm up properly! I’m full of emotions right now to be honest.”
