Reports are emerging that Sunderland may be able to bring Amad Diallo back to the club following talks with Manchester United.
Diallo could be making a fairytale return to the Stadium of Light in January following injury and a lack of game time in the Premier League.
Last season, the Ivorian was one of the most exciting players in the Championship, labelled as ‘electric’ by ITV.
Why didn’t Amad Diallo join in the summer?
After his electric form for the Black Cats, he looked destined to go and smash it in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The attacker impressed early on in pre-season. A knee injury halted any chances of him making an impact early on.
Any chance of him playing for the Red Devils or making a move back to the North East was ruled out by this issue.
Diallo is soon to return to fitness. After missing a large portion of the season, Erik Ten Haag appears to prefer a loan deal.
What will he add to Sunderland?
Everyone knows what Amad is about and if he finds his feet quickly, he spells danger for opposition defences.
He is direct, powerful, pacey and definitely has an eye for goal.
With Jack Clarke linked heavily to the Premier League, Diallo would be an ideal replacement. That being said, they would be perfect together.
If Tony Mowbray can get them both firing on all cylinders, the Black Cats will be a danger.
This one looks like it could happen and Sunderland fans have every right to get excited. The prodigal son is set to return.
