Middlesbrough Target To Have Medicals Today Ahead Of €5m Move As alternative…..
Middlesbrough target Emmanuel Latte Lath is set to have a medical at the club today ahead of a move to England, as per TuttoMercatoWeb (Via Sport Witness).
Latte Lath, 24, spent last season on loan at St Gallen in Switzerland.
He made 33 appearances across all competitions at the club scoring 16 goals and assisting another four.
The versatile attacker can play across the front line but is more often used centrally to maximise his goal-scoring capabilities.
He came through the ranks at Atalanta in Italy putting in some very impressive campaigns as a teenager. However, his chance in their first team never really came and it seems this summer he may be on the move permanently.
The latest reports suggest Middlesbrough will pay €5million plus potential add-ons for Latte Lath and the striker will sign a four year deal on Teesside.
A strong move
Given the fact it seems Chuba Akpom is on the move this summer Middlesbrough were in need of attacking reinforcements.
Latte Lath could be their answer and whilst he’s arguably never played at a level as competitive as the Championship, the signs are all there for him to be a good player for Michael Carrick. It’s a statement move from Boro showing they are more than committed to spending money in order to replace their top scorer from last season.
Boro have started the season slowly, but with over two weeks left of the window it’s these types of signings which will help turn their fortunes around.
It’ll be interesting to see if Latte Lath manages to hit the ground running if the move to Boro is finalised and with a medical reportedly planned today his first game could be this weekend at home to Huddersfield Town.
