West Ham United supporters have eagerly awaited news about a possible move to acquire Brentford striker Ivan Toney during the upcoming January transfer window. West Ham’s interest in Toney has been ongoing for a while, but with his impending departure from Brentford this winter, speculations have reignited. The Hammers made an attempt to sign the 27-year-old center-forward from Brentford in January earlier this year, but he ultimately stayed with the west London club.

West Ham manager David Moyes is in dire need of a new center-forward this winter, and Brentford seems willing to part ways with Toney for a fee in the range of £50-60 million, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. However, it appears that Toney won’t be making the move to West Ham when the January transfer window opens.

West Ham fans get Ivan Toney answer as reporter close to David Sullivan makes brand new claim - Hammers News

Claret and Hugh, a source close to West Ham’s chairman, David Sullivan, has suggested that although Toney is likely to leave Brentford in January, he won’t be joining West Ham. This is a disappointing development for many West Ham fans, who saw Toney as a potentially sensational addition.

Ivan Toney has an impressive record, having scored 68 goals and provided 21 assists in 124 games for Brentford, but Moyes will need to go back to the drawing board with the January transfer window fast approaching. On a brighter note, there is an ideal long-term replacement for Michail Antonio available for just £17 million: Serhou Guirassy, who plays for Stuttgart. Guirassy has been in outstanding form this season, having scored 14 goals in just eight games for the German club.

While Guirassy could be a fantastic signing for West Ham, the fact that Ivan Toney is likely out of reach remains a disappointment for many fans, as he was their top choice.
