‘Miracle’ – Corberan issues West Brom fitness update on top of ‘Very Serious’ player’s injury

West Bromwich Albion is facing a significant injury crisis, with concerns about the fitness of key players. Manager Carlos Corberan has expressed the need for a “miracle” for Semi Ajayi to be fit to face Coventry City, as Cedric Kipre suffered a “very serious” knee injury.

During their recent 2-0 win over QPR, Kipre landed awkwardly and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period due to his knee problem. Ajayi had already missed the game due to an ankle injury, which he aggravated in a previous 0-0 draw with Plymouth. Corberan confirmed that it would be miraculous if Ajayi is ready for the next match against Coventry.

The injury situation has left West Brom with a depleted squad, and their recent match against QPR saw six academy graduates in the squad, with five of them under the age of 20. Despite the injury challenges, Corberan has managed to keep the team in playoff positions and competing for promotion.

The defensive performance of the team has remained strong despite the injury issues, and Corberan has received credit for his management. However, the extent of the injuries is becoming unsustainable, and the team may need to be active in the January transfer window to provide additional support.

While West Brom may have a chance against struggling Coventry, the injury crisis is a significant challenge that the team is currently facing. Corberan’s ability to maintain morale and belief in the squad despite these difficulties has been commendable.
