CeeDee Lamb was a solitary figure on the Dallas Cowboys’ sideline a few weeks ago, displaying clear frustration during their 42-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on October 8th. Whether he had a towel over his head or his hands on his hips, he stood alone, making his feelings evident.
In that game, he managed only four receptions on five targets for a total of 49 yards. However, things took a positive turn for Lamb afterward. He has since recorded 19 receptions for 275 yards and two touchdowns, including a remarkable performance with 12 catches for 158 yards in the Cowboys’ 43-20 victory against the Los Angeles Rams.
The turning point was a conversation between Dak Prescott and Lamb that took place at The Star after the loss to the 49ers. Prescott emphasized the importance of maintaining composure and not letting frustration show when facing challenges in the NFL, highlighting the effort they both invested in their offseason preparations.
Their hard work began before the official offseason program commenced, with throwing sessions in Prescott’s backyard and continued through organized team activities, minicamp, and even a private retreat hosted by Prescott in July at Lake Oconee in Georgia, where they engaged in various activities and discussions with O2X, a performance company founded by former Navy SEALs.
Lamb also reminded everyone during training camp in Oxnard, California, that he and Prescott hadn’t yet completed a full season together. In previous years, injuries had disrupted their partnership.
However, this season, through seven games, Lamb is on track for an impressive 112 receptions for 1,537 yards and seven touchdowns. If achieved, this would break Hall of Famer Michael Irvin’s team record for catches and come close to his yardage record.

Coach Mike McCarthy acknowledges the strong connection between Prescott and Lamb, comparing it to legendary quarterback-receiver duos in Cowboys history.
Lamb had a career day with 12 catches for 158 yards against the Rams, marking his third game with at least 10 receptions, 100 yards, and two touchdowns, a franchise record. He now has five such games, ranking fourth in team history.
