West Brom defender Cedric Kipre received positive news regarding his knee injury, according to injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar. Initially, the club had feared the worst, but subsequent scans revealed that the injury was not as serious as initially thought.
Kipre, aged 26, made a return to Carlos Corberan’s starting lineup for the game against Coventry City on October 30, in which West Brom emerged victorious with a 2-0 win.
Dr. Brar, who specializes in Physical Therapy and Sports Science, provided insights into Kipre’s injury, stating, “Based on the initial comments of there being no overt injury and potentially just some irritation, the worst-case scenario was some swelling in the joint due to irritation from knee cartilage, which would have sidelined him for a few weeks. The physios would have managed the pain response and gradually increased his activity to assess his condition.”
Dr. Brar also mentioned that there were concerns within the team that the injury might be severe, but Kipre has since returned to the starting lineup and appears to be fit now.
Cedric Kipre has been a regular starter for Corberan’s team this season, featuring in 13 of their 14 league games. He has even managed to score a rare goal in the 4-2 victory against Middlesbrough in August. If all goes as planned, he is expected to be in the starting eleven for West Brom when they face Hull City on November 4.
