Grady Diangana has earned praise for seizing the opportunity in West Brom’s attack after making a successful return from his injury. The winger played a crucial role in the second half, providing assists for two goals as Carlos Corberan’s team secured their third consecutive victory by defeating the highly-regarded Hull with a score of 3-1.

Diangana set up the second goal for Matt Phillips, and later, he played a role in assisting Semi Ajayi in scoring the third goal after the one-hour mark at The Hawthorns. Albion had taken the lead thanks to Jed Wallace, but Hull had put up a strong fight, resulting in a 1-1 score at halftime.

Grady Diangana, a former West Ham youngster, had spent six months on the sidelines between February and September. However, he made an impressive comeback by not only scoring twice in two games but also providing two assists against Hull. His celebration with the home fans at the end of the match was exuberant.

Expressing his admiration for Diangana, Carlos Corberan said, “Diangana is a truly exceptional player. When he fully commits to the game, he has the potential to make a significant impact in the Championship. We are delighted to see him scoring goals as he did in the previous week and providing assists. It’s crucial for our attacking players to contribute, and now he’s found a way to do just that.”

Why Diangana is an important signing for West Brom

When asked about Diangana’s return and whether it has had a positive effect on his mental state, Corberan commented, “You never know, do you? The past season wasn’t easy for any of the players. Since I arrived, he had been playing more on the left, but I now see him performing better on the right. The injuries we’ve had in the attack have provided him with more playing time. He’s making good use of these opportunities and demonstrating his true potential.”

West Brom, known as the Baggies, maintained their fifth position in the Championship and are set to face Southampton, who currently occupy fourth place, before the November international break. Corberan’s team has not only achieved three consecutive wins but has also suffered only one defeat in their last 10 games, which was against Blues.

West Brom is currently awaiting news on the extent of Kyle Bartley’s shoulder injury, which occurred late in the game against Hull. However, Semi Ajayi, a fellow defender, made an impressive return from an ankle injury and scored after coming off the bench. Jeremy Sarmiento, an energetic loaned attacker, also made a late appearance as he recovers from an ankle issue.
