When Manchester United visit St. James’ Park on December 2, Newcastle United is expected to be without their key defender, Dan Burn.
Manchester United is eager to redeem themselves after a humiliating defeat to Newcastle’s B team in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday. Their first opportunity for redemption will come after the international break when they travel to Tyneside for a Premier League showdown. However, it appears that Burn will be missing from the squad due to an injury.
Eddie Howe, the Newcastle manager, confirmed on Monday that the 31-year-old defender has suffered an injury to the base of his spine, as reported by Craig Hope. This injury is expected to keep Burn sidelined for an extended period, possibly lasting for a couple of months.
On the other side, Manchester United, led by Erik ten Hag, has also been dealing with their fair share of injury concerns, with Marcus Rashford and Casemiro being the most recent additions to their injury list.
