Eddie Howe has chosen a surprise squad for tonight’s Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.
We expected changes, but we believed it would be Kieran Trippier on the left and Tino Livramento on the right, but Livramento appears to be playing as a wide forward in place of Miguel Almiron.
Joe Willock has moved into midfield, while Joelinton is pushed up to the left wing, supporting Callum Wilson in attack.
As always, there’s scope for Willock and Joelinton to interchange, depending on how things are going.
Anthony Gordon gets a breather starting on the bench along with Miggy.
Lewis Hall gets his chance to shine in the Champions League as he replaces Dan Burn in the starting lineup.
Howe has switched things up to face Dortmund
Howe has made several changes to the midfield too.
Has Eddie Howe made a masterstroke of a move benching Gordon and Almiron?
It’s a barebones bench, as was expected with Lucas De Bolle and Lewis Miley named along with two goalkeepers.
The actual starting XI is good enough to win the game, and having Almiron and Gordon to come on late when Dortmund are tiring might be a genius move by Howe.
Howay the lads!
