Carlos Corberan impact at West Brom made clear as Sky Sports move Leeds United and Stoke City fixtures

Albion found themselves dangerously close to the relegation zone when the Spaniard took over from Steve Bruce just over a year ago, and it seemed the club’s fortunes were on a downward trajectory. However, having successfully propelled Albion up the ranks in the latter part of the previous season, Corberan has carried that momentum into the current campaign. Now, 15 games into the season, West Brom sits at fifth place in the Championship, actively participating in what promises to be a thrilling play-off battle.

While Leicester City and Ipswich Town have secured a comfortable lead in the top two positions, the rest of the top six are tightly packed, separated by only three points. The competition is so intense that merely three points differentiate West Brom in fifth place from Hull City in ninth. This slim margin underscores the significance of every match result. Recognizing the heightened interest in Albion’s performance, Sky Sports has even rescheduled a couple of West Brom games for television coverage next month, as announced by the club on their Twitter page on November 9th.

Corberan’s team has experienced several fixture rearrangements until the new year, with matches against Ipswich, Leicester, and Sunderland also being rescheduled. While this may inconvenience some fans and alter their plans, it reflects the growing appeal of Corberan’s Albion as a team worth watching for neutrals. No longer relegated to mid-table obscurity, the Baggies are now actively engaged in the battle for promotion to the Premier League.

The question remains whether Albion can sustain their impressive early-season form, but at least supporters now have a reason to be excited. For this positive turn of events, credit is due to Corberan.
