Dion Dublin made the remark after watching James Ward-Prowse in the West Ham vs. Nottingham Forest game after coming from retirement.

Former Manchester United and Aston Villa striker stated he would come out of retirement solely to play with Hammers midfielder.

Ward-Prowse joined the London Stadium this summer and has been dubbed the “signing of the window” due to his immediate impact at his new club.

BBC analyst commented (12/11, 21:29) on Premier League Productions’ Weekend Wrap Up, Dublin, “He’s the only one I’d want to come out of retirement to play.” He has speed, power, and direction. I only need to stand in the box. He’s the closest thing we’ve had to David Beckham. It’s a fantastic ball.”

Sensational

The Hammers won the game 3-2, and Ward-Prowse probably contributed significantly to their victory.

On Sunday, November 12th, the 29-year-old was once again at his creative best, providing two assists.

He was also neat with his passing and dominated the show in midfield, proving to be a box to box presence.

Dublin is correct; the midfielder is a joy for any striker with good positioning because he will locate him inside the box as if his life depended on it.

There were reservations about his ability to replace the shoes of Declan Rice, and while Edson Alvarez and Lucas Paqueta have also contributed, it’s fair to say he’s been the pick of the group.

West Ham will be hoping that he can stay fit for the rest of the season since they will get a lot more points with him in the team than without him.
