Corberan expects West Brom starlet to leave for 'Nominal Fee' in summer - Journalist

Taylor Gardner-Hickman is expected to depart West Brom for a ‘Nominal Fee’ this summer, according to Carlos Corberan – Joe Chapman
According to Joe Chapman, Carlos Corberan has acknowledged that he expects Taylor Gardner-Hickman to leave West Brom for a “nominal fee” next summer.

The Birmingham Live journalist was responding to supporters on his personal Twitter account (14 November) after reporting that the management is open to the return of both Gardner-Hickman and Karlan Grant, who are presently on loan.

However, after a fan pointed out that the buy-option in Gardner-Hickman’s contract was only a modest price and would almost certainly be exercised, Chapman revealed that Corberan has acknowledged that his prospects of returning are remote.

“Carlos accepts that there is a fair chance they execute that clause,” he stated in his letter.

Shame

Many people questioned the transaction that allowed Garnder-Hickman to leave the club in the summer since it made no sense.
The young versatile player wasn’t given many chances last season, but when he did, he was frequently out of position, and he did dazzle on times, looking like he was ready for a bigger part this season.

Given the club’s financial difficulties, it’s not surprising that the team was forced to let some personnel go, but a loan move was unusual, especially to a rival club in the same tier.

Now, the choice to include a buy-option for a pittance is even odder, and we appear destined to lose him despite the fact that there is definitely a position for him in the team.

It’s a terrible, but at least Corberan can prepare for life without him, and if he does return for whatever reason, it will be seen as an extra body for next season.
