Paul Robinson has commended Carlos Corberan’s efforts in the current season, expressing admiration for the way the team has performed despite what he considers to be unconventional decisions made by West Brom. Despite a minimalistic summer transfer window that left the squad stretched thin, West Brom currently holds the seventh position in the Championship, sharing points with Sunderland in the final top six spot.

Robinson acknowledged Corberan’s commendable job at The Hawthorns given the limited resources available. He found it peculiar that players like Taylor Gardner-Hickman were allowed to leave during the summer, considering them valuable squad members. Robinson stated that the team’s current standing in the league, especially in a challenging season with formidable opponents, reflects positively on Corberan’s managerial skills.

West Brom

Despite the initial skepticism among West Brom supporters due to a lackluster transfer window, Corberan has managed to achieve success with a limited squad, overcoming the departures of key players. The departure of individuals like Gardner-Hickman, Karlan Grant, and Dara O’Shea left the team with minimal depth. However, Corberan’s ability to secure victories, even with injuries affecting the squad, has earned him significant praise.

West Brom

The Championship is known for its competitiveness, and this season is considered particularly tough with financially strong teams. While a return to the Premier League may pose challenges for West Brom, their strong start to the season under Corberan’s management positions them as contenders for a playoff spot if they maintain their current performance.
