Charlton suffers another fresh injury setback as key player unlikely to be back until 2024

Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Harry Isted will be out until 2024 after suffering a setback in his recovery from a knee injury. The summer signing has been out since the beginning of October, and Addicks head coach Michael Appleton revealed in his press conference ahead of Saturday’s trip to Carlisle that Isted’s return date has been pushed back.

“Harry has had a little bit of a setback in terms of the knee situation,” said Appleton. “I think it is one of them where we’ll know the extent of that in the coming days.

“The other three are about the new year, or potentially about the new year.”

“Harry is with the specialist today so we should know either today or Monday what the situation is.”

Camara is on loan from Ipswich Town, and Appleton stated that he is being treated at both teams.

“From his point of view when he initially had the setback, the re-injury, getting himself away was a big thing to clear his head,” Appleton went on to say. “The time it takes to step up his rehab, and the closer he gets to a return is when he will spend most of his time with us.”
