Geno Smith point one challenge for Seahawks after loss to 49ers

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, despite playing with a previous injury to his right arm, emphasized that his health was not the main issue following their defeat to the 49ers. The game proved challenging, with the Seahawks struggling against the 49ers and facing difficulties generating offensive plays, especially against standout performance from 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey.

During the game, Smith faced considerable pressure, completing 18 of 27 passes for 180 yards, enduring six sacks, throwing an interception, and narrowly avoiding additional turnovers. The Seahawks’ initial five possessions only gained a total of 15 yards, and despite a second-half attempt at a comeback, Smith faced untimely sacks.

Post-game, Smith issued a challenge to his Seahawks teammates, as reported by Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. He urged each player to individually assess their performance, scrutinize their game footage, and ask themselves how they could contribute more effectively to the team. Smith emphasized personal accountability and consistency, acknowledging the interconnectedness of all eleven players on the field.

When questioned about the impact of his strained triceps, Smith stated that it was not a factor, according to Brady Henderson of ESPN. Looking ahead, the Seahawks are set to face the Dallas Cowboys in the upcoming Thursday Night Football matchup.
