Forced to relocate inside due to Trippier’s adept one-on-one defense and the collective efforts of the Newcastle team, Mbappe found himself consistently frustrated. Even in the face of a fatigued Newcastle side with limited substitution options, Mbappe struggled to bypass Nick Pope, often missing the target when better outcomes were within reach.

In contrast, acknowledging the opponent’s defensive strengths, crediting them for a well-defended match, and admitting to fortunate decisions are traits that distinguish true sportsmanship. It remains puzzling why some players and managers, including Mbappe, refrain from acknowledging when luck plays in their favor, as if admitting it could jeopardize the result.
