Dean Holden, the manager of Charlton Athletic, stated that the team is ‘desperately attempting’ to get the proper players.
Prior to the transfer window closing on September 1st, Charlton Athletic is still hoping to sign further targets.
Even though the Addicks have had a busy summer thus far, their squad still needs some holes filled.
Holden thinks that by allowing Mandela Egbo to join Colchester United in League Two, they have made room for reinforcements. According to him, it “frees up a little bit of space [in the budget] to do something,” as quoted by London News Online.
Only a few weeks remain in the transfer window, and we are frantically working to sign the best players for the team. Everyone who attended the last two games can see where we are lacking a little bit, but they can also see many encouraging signs. We still have some work to do.
Charlton seeking new business
Since the end of the previous season, Charlton has added players such Harry Isted, Panutche Camara, Lloyd Jones, Terry Taylor, Tayo Edun, and Alfie May to their roster. But before the opportunity closes, they may need some more additions because their ranks are still a little thin.
On the first day of the season, George Dobson’s goal for Holden’s team gave them a 1-0 victory over Leyton Orient at home. But since then, they have lost to Peterborough United and Bristol Rovers in league games.
The London team will play Port Vale at home in their upcoming match as they aim to get back on track. This season is still in its early stages, and the team is still adjusting to League One play.
The Addicks received a sucker punch from a late goal by Bristol Rovers, and their supporters might need some encouragement from a new addition. Although the club is actively looking to add additional members, they are being patient right now as they look for the proper character and won’t be making any hasty agreements.
