The club has officially secured the services of promising young talent Micah Mbick, who recently inked his inaugural professional contract. Having been part of the club’s prestigious academy since the age of 10, Mbick made a memorable senior debut by scoring just three minutes into the game, contributing to Charlton’s 6-1 victory over Cray Valley PM in the Emirates FA Cup.

At 17 years old, the forward has showcased his goal-scoring prowess with an impressive tally of 12 goals in 13 appearances for Charlton’s U18s and U21s this season. Expressing his excitement about committing to Charlton for the long term, Mbick emphasized the significance of achieving a childhood dream and praised the club’s supportive environment for young players.

Head Coach Michael Appleton lauded Mbick’s athleticism, physicality, and versatile goal-scoring abilities. Despite his young age, Mbick’s maturity, intelligence, and overall skill set have left a positive impression on the coaching staff, and they are eager to work with him in the years to come.

Technical Director Andy Scott highlighted Mbick’s exceptional season, noting his success at various levels of play, from U17 to first team. Recognizing Mbick’s rapid ascent through the ranks, Scott commended the player’s grounded nature and credited the academy’s coaching staff, particularly Academy Director Steve Avory, for their role in developing yet another promising forward.

Fans of Charlton are encouraged to support the academy through the Valley Gold scheme, which not only aids in nurturing future talents but also provides supporters with the chance to win cash prizes.
