Nitkowski leaves Rangers to join Braves broadcasts
C.J. Nitkowski, a member of the Texas Rangers TV broadcast team, is set to depart from his current position to join the broadcast team of the Atlanta Braves. According to Nitkowski’s statement, he is leaving the Rangers broadcasts to explore opportunities with the Braves.
Nitkowski, a former MLB pitcher with an extended career, briefly played for the Rangers in 2002 before transitioning to a role as part of the Rangers television broadcast team in 2017. During his time with the team, he served as one of the primary announcers alongside Dave Raymond.
The replacement for Nitkowski has not been announced yet. However, former Rangers David Murphy and Dave Valle, who both spent considerable time in the broadcast booth this year, could potentially take on the majority of Nitkowski’s responsibilities.
Nitkowski explained that his decision to make this move was driven by a desire to be closer to his family and reduce the travel demands associated with his current job. There is no official information regarding Nitkowski’s specific responsibilities with the Braves broadcasts, should the transition take place.
