A novel golf product associated with Auburn has made its debut on the PGA Tour. Trace Crowe, a former Tigers player, secured his first PGA Tour card for the 2024 season by claiming the second spot in the PGA Tour’s Q School. This series of tournaments serves to narrow down contestants, determining who qualifies for golf’s premier level.

In the conclusive round of Q-School, the top five golfers, along with those tied with them, secure PGA Tour cards, granting them full membership for the upcoming season. Despite adverse weather conditions in Florida, where heavy rain rendered Sunday’s round at the Dye’s Valley Course unplayable, Crowe managed to finish the tournament at -11. On Monday, he shot a three-under 67 to solidify his position in the top five.

Crowe, an Auburn player from 2015 to 2019, earned recognition as a second-team All-SEC golfer in 2017 and 2019. In the preceding year, he competed on the Korn Ferry Tour, considered a minor league to the PGA Tour, with conditional status. Winning the NV5 Invitational in July in Illinois significantly elevated his standing in the Korn Ferry points, moving him from beyond the top 100 to 36th. While finishing the season at 38th, just shy of the top 30 needed for an automatic PGA Tour card, Crowe made a successful comeback by securing his Tour qualification through the Q School’s top-five finish.

Despite having only three previous starts on the PGA Tour, Crowe’s recent achievement marks a noteworthy milestone in his golfing career.
