Inked: 4-star Pike Road DL Malik Blocton signs letter of intent with Auburn
Malik Blocton, a highly-rated 4-star defensive lineman from Pike Road High School, has officially become the latest addition to Auburn’s 2024 signing class. Having committed to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers since July 8, Blocton solidified his commitment by signing his national letter of intent on Wednesday, making him the inaugural high school recruit of the early signing period to complete the paperwork for Auburn.
While Blocton held a signing ceremony on Dec. 11, the official submission of his paperwork was delayed until Wednesday. Throughout his senior season at Pike Road, he showcased impressive defensive prowess, leading the Patriots with 118 total tackles, 30 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, 21 quarterback hurries, an interception, and two fumble recoveries.

Standing at an imposing 6-foot-4 and weighing 275 pounds, Blocton is ranked as the 50th best defensive line prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle and holds the 25th position among all prospects in the state of Alabama, irrespective of position, according to 247Sports.
Auburn, which was among the first teams to extend an offer to Blocton in 2021, successfully secured his commitment over the summer, beating out notable programs such as Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Texas during the recruitment process.
With the inclusion of Blocton, and barring any alterations to Auburn’s existing or potential roster, the Tigers’ defensive line is poised to feature a formidable group, including Blocton, Keldric Faulk, Quientrail Jamison-Travis, Jayson Jones, 4-star TJ Lindsey, 3-star Dimitry Nicolas, Darron Reed Jr., Justin Rogers, and Zykeivous Walker.
