Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni has sent a message to West Brom man Josh Maja after he posted an injury update from hospital
The Baggies’ forward is facing approximately four months of absence following a surgical procedure conducted on Thursday, December 21. The 24-year-old, who has participated in nine matches for West Brom, sustained an ankle injury in the recent game against Sunderland.
Expressing gratitude for the successful surgery on Instagram, Maja stated his focus is now on recovery and returning stronger. He acknowledged the support received from well-wishers. Various players, including Real Madrid’s Tchouameni, who previously played with Maja at Bordeaux, have extended their support.
This season, West Brom has encountered a string of injuries, notably affecting their offensive capabilities. Maja is the latest casualty at The Hawthorns, adding to the frustration of manager Carlos Corberan, who desires a resolution to the team’s injury woes as they aim for promotion to the Premier League.
While Maja wasn’t the first choice for the manager, he showcased his impact as a substitute by scoring his inaugural goal for the club against Leicester City. Despite his contributions, West Brom must now navigate the Premier League without the services of the sidelined striker.
Facing Middlesbrough on Saturday, December 23, West Brom is eager to regain momentum after a 1-1 draw against Stoke City in their previous outing.
