Walker Buehler sends strong message to Rangers

Although Chuck Norris is not there, Walker is sending a message to the Texas Rangers.

The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal claimed this week that the defending champion Rangers are still interested in signing former Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw, 35, is a free agent this winter after 16 seasons with the Dodgers.

Walker Buehler, a fellow Dodger pitcher, delivered a strong message to the Rangers in response to their alleged interest in Kershaw.

“NO!” exclaimed Buehler in a message to X.

Buehler, who will return to the Dodgers rotation next season after undergoing his second Tommy John surgery, has been teammates with Kershaw since 2017, and he plainly does not want to see him depart. Kershaw, who had shoulder surgery last month and faces an unclear future, will make the final decision.

The Rangers are an intriguing option for Kershaw because he is a Texas native and has long been linked to a relocation to Arlington. Buehler, on the other hand, wants to have one last dance with Kershaw next year, with Shohei Ohtani DHing and both Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto entering the Dodgers rotation alongside a healthy Buehler.
