Breaking News: LSU officially announces the departure of another star

Florida State officially confirmed the acquisition of Jalen Brown, the wide receiver transfer from LSU, on Monday morning. Brown, who is already present at FSU, completed his enrollment with the team after committing over the weekend. Hailing from Miami, Florida, this redshirt freshman was a prime target for the Seminoles during his time at Gulliver Prep.

The Seminole offense is set to benefit significantly from Jalen Brown’s impressive speed. Described as a great talent and vertical threat by head coach Mike Norvell, Brown’s playmaking abilities, quick feet, and agility are anticipated to make him a valuable asset to the team. Coach Norvell expressed excitement about Brown’s potential to develop into a well-rounded receiver and praised his character.

Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 180 pounds, Brown redshirted as a true freshman at LSU in 2023, appearing in three games for the Tigers. In the NCAA Transfer Portal, he is currently ranked as the No. 45 overall transfer and the No. 10 wide receiver by 247Sports.com.

During his time at Gulliver Prep, Brown showcased his skills with 111 receptions, accumulating 2,396 yards, and scoring 25 touchdowns. His all-purpose yards reached 3,272, including 797 kickoff return yards and six rushing yards. In his senior season, he made 22 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns in six games.

As a MaxPreps Junior All-American, Brown earned recognition for his outstanding performance with 56 catches, 1,033 yards, and 11 touchdowns, along with a kickoff return touchdown. His contributions helped the Raiders achieve 11 wins and reach the regional final round of the 4A state playoffs.

Throughout his high school career, Brown consistently demonstrated his athleticism, contributing 18 catches for 500 yards and eight touchdowns in his sophomore year. He also excelled in track, winning the regional championship in the 100-meter dash during his sophomore season and qualifying for the state championship meet in the 200-meter dash.

In terms of high school rankings, Brown was rated as the nation’s No. 68 overall prospect, No. 12 wide receiver, and Florida’s No. 17 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite.
